Model-based Transition Planning and Prediction
In subproject B4 we develop methods for planning transitions between communication mechanisms. These methods are based on probabilistic models of the underlying communication systems. In particular, we consider programmable core networks and aim at transition plans that take quantitative performance metrics into account. These metrics are optimized using methods such as queueing theory, stochastic network calculus and Markov decision processes. The results of project B4 enable utilizing the network resources more effectively, in particular, in case of the coexistence of multi-mechanisms.
