In 2023, the Collaborative Research Center MAKI lost two highly esteemed colleagues.

We mourn the loss of Professor Phuoc Tran-Gia, member of our Scientific Advisory Board and friend, who passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2023 at the age of 70.

We mourn the loss of Professor Otto Spaniol, former member of our Scientific Advisory Board and companion of our CRC from the very beginning. Otto Spaniol passed away on December 10, 2023 after a long illness.
