Performance Evaluation of Adaptive Communication Systems
Equipped with the MAPE loop as a formal tool to express adaptivity in computing systems, MAKI coins the concept of Transitions, i.e., the seamless adaptation of communication mechanisms at runtime. A key driver for transitions are quantitative performance metrics, whether based on analytical or data-driven models of communication mechanisms. Efficient and quality-optimizing deployment of transitions in adaptive communication systems relies on an in-depth analysis of communication mechanisms using a number of performance evaluation techniques.
This workshop examines performance evaluation methods for communication mechanisms as well as their deployment within several adaptive communication systems ranging from stream processing, scheduling, and caching towards contrasting different performance evaluation methods for upcoming cellular communication standards.
