5G in Industrial Production Environments
Abstract:
The talk will review 5G use-cases in industrial production environments and their inherent requirements. Furthermore, we will discuss the related status in the 3GPP standardization and investigate which NR features enable to fulfill the requirements of use cases in production environments.
Bio:
Michael Meyer, obtained Dipl. Ing. and Dr.-Ing degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Paderborn. In 1996 he started at Ericsson Research at the Ericsson Eurolab in Herzogenrath close to Aachen. As senior specialist he actively contributed to the technology development and standardization of 3G and 4G. Currently he is responsible for the research on Radio Network Architecture and Protocols in the global Ericsson Research organization. He published more than 30 publications and holds more than 90 patents.
