Abstract
A most enduring concept from the telephony system is the continuous connection and even the voluminous research on ad hoc networks treated mobility and churn as exceptional cases, as problems to be overcome. We have taken another view and have for a decade been studying intermittent communication among mobile devices in form of opportunistic networking.
I will present our system design and evaluation and describe the need for better mobility models.
