Abstract
Smart city initiatives attempt to tackle the challenges brought forth by the rapid growth of the population in cities. In the first part of this presentation, we will briefly review the field of multimodal computing and describe some of our research achievements related to haptics modeling, haptics audio visual data synchronization and haptics as a biometric mean. Finally, we will discuss some of the major research topics that are being, or will be tackled in my group in the next 3-5 years.
