Abstract
Adaptivity and flexibility constitute major challenges for almost any process-oriented application. Though research has already resulted in mature solutions and commercial systems, still challenging open questions remain. In addition – despite the high demand for flexible process technology in almost any domain – it has not found full application in practice yet. This talk will provide a short state of the art overview on flexible process technology. Further on, “hot topics” and current research efforts in the area of flexible process techonology will be illustrated by means of selected ongoing research projects.
